For Property Managers
Owners’ Corporation and property management : planned power cuts and preparedness for adaptation
Maintenance, maintenance or upgrading of electrical installations (e.g., for example)Rising Mains ReplacementorSwitchboard ReplacementIn some cases, there is a need to arrange a moratorium on electricity supply, and the port light points out that pre-existing preparations are sufficient to avoid situations where people are trapped in the downgrading machine, car parked, security or fire-fighting systems fail, backup generator fuel is inadequate.
General presentation by Property Management Corporation and Owners’ Corporation
- Jointly with registered electrical worker / registered electrical contractor to confirm the scope and services affected by the suspension and to notify the affected client in advance
- Liaise with suppliers of precipitation/automatic elevators, telecommunications systems, security systems and fire-fighting systems to ensure that the systems are operated normally during and after the suspension
- Review or development of adaptation plans and procedures to respond to emergencies that may be encountered during the suspension
- Organization of a sufficient volume of back-up power sources (e.g. generators) to ensure proper operation and sufficient fuel
- Arrangements for registered electrical worker to operate the electrical system at the site prior to and after the suspension of the supply and the re-establishment of the supply, if required
Suspension of electricity applications
For example, where the power supply is suspended because of the need for the work, the client or registered electrical contractor is required to obtain written permission from the affected customer prior to the event and to submit a table on a moratorium on the supply of electricity no later than two weeks before the power cut (C.I.509).
